Walsh University Lifelong Learning Academy Presents “Revitalized Liturgical Music: Thinking Outside the Box”

Wed, Jan 25, 2017 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Walsh University Lifelong Learning Academy Presents “Revitalized Liturgical Music: Thinking Outside the Box” on January 25 at 7:00pm in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel. The celebration of the Mass should be the highlight of any Catholic’s day or weekend, but too often the ball is dropped and the word “celebration” turns into “obligation”. The music for the Mass is meant to lift us up and point to Jesus. It is the soundtrack of this celebration, the Mass. Some of the classic church hymns can be totally reformed and recreated if the musicians are open to thinking outside the box when playing. Mr. PJ Chavez, Director of Liturgical Services, and his talented musicians will explore the development and purpose of liturgical music while engaging the audience in the beautiful music of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel.

Lifelong Learning Academy programs are open to the public without charge and participants can earn recognition for hours of study. Reservations are not required. For more information, contact Rabbi John Spitzer at jspitzer@walsh.edu or by calling 330.244.4734.
